Ringier Hungary Ltd. is one of the largest domestic media companies offering a wide range of popular brands in the Hungarian media market. Our company was founded in 1989 and became part of Ringier Axel Springer Media AG in 2014. According to the agreement announced in the summer of 2021 between the two parent companies of the joint venture, Ringier AG in Switzerland and Axel Springer SE in Germany, Ringier AG acquired the shares in Axel Springer’s Central and Eastern European interests. Thus, by February 2022, the Swiss Ringier Group became the sole owner of our media offering.

Since the founding of our publishing house, we have been expanding our business, expanding our reach, and continuing to provide quality content to our audience. For more than thirty years now, we have been responding quickly and flexibly to the new challenges and opportunities presented by our changing operating environment. We have maintained our leading position in many market segments for decades.

Over 700,000 people read our daily Blikk each day. We reach 2 million readers per month on average with our print issues. On average, 2 million visitors are attracted to our online portfolio products each month, accounting for 70 million page views.

Ringier Group is also present in the Hungarian job classifieds site market as the owner of job portal. With its market share of over 70 percent, is the leading job classifieds site in Hungary. In 2016, some twenty thousand companies placed job vacancies on the site.

Beyond providing the largest number of verified and reliable advertisements for job seekers, gives useful advices on how to prepare a CV, cover letter, submit applications and prepare for the job interview. The company continuously develops its technology and is proud of its outstanding achievements in the field of employer branding.

Through its Big Data analysis, regular surveys and professional events, became a prominent expert of the Hungarian labour market.

Our history

The company has been present in the Hungarian media market since 1989.

Tvr-hét TV guide and Lakáskultúra magazine were its most successful titles when it was established, with the women’s magazine Kiskegyed becoming the flagship product of the publisher later on, breaking the historic media record with 600,000 copies sold. Kiskegyed and its brand extensions remain just as popular to this day.

Blikk daily celebrates its 25th anniversary in 2019. The market leader daily paper belonged to Ringier publishing house prior to its integration into Ringier Axel Springer Hungary.

Our portfolio was enriched with GLAMOUR and Auto Bild license magazines in 2004 and also with GEO magazine in 2005. In 2017 Egészsé health portal and online magazine of Generation C joined our portfolio. Bookazine Bestseller series has been published since 2018 in historical topics.

Our publishing company is celebrating its 30th anniversary in 2019.
